Oval multi-tone gold box, hallmarked "JS" with illegible hallmark under the throat, probably Geneva circa 1790.
With guilloché fillet decoration adorned with pastilles, the lid centered on a trophy of Love surrounded by a garland, the edges chased with foliate scrolls on a sand-blasted background, the sides adorned with flowering vases, mirror added later to the interior, (wear, knocks).
