Round yellow gold box, Master goldsmith: Claude-Pierre Pottier, Paris, 1780-1781. With painted foliage decoration, the lid adorned with a building, the sides protected by opaline glass, the rims applied with pearls, (slight scratches and wear). Diameter: 58 mm. Gross weight: 83.5 g. Another very similar snuffbox by Claude-Pierre Pottier, 1779, is in the collections of the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York (number 1967-48-8-a, b).
