Pair of frame armchairs, the curved mahogany and gilt-bronze backs, lion's head armrests (restorations to the armrest supports) linked to the base by an ormolu decorated circular platform supported by a baluster foot finished with claws and saber-shaped back legs; (accidents and restorations; the back probably originally openwork, the gilt-bronze motif brought back at a later date). Restoration period, circa 1825-1835. H : 92 cm, W : 65 cm. Provenance : Former collection of René Ledoux-Lebard (1879-1948). These armchairs are a late interpretation of armchairs designed by Charles Percier and made by Georges Jacob at the end of the 18th century.
