Marcel THOMAS (1909–2000; attributed to). Marlène Dietrich and Jean Marais (film). Circa 1955. Three later silver gelatin prints. On the reverse, written in pencil: “Marcel Thomas 5/20–6/20–8/20” and stamped: “Photographie Marcel Thomas—Photograph taken by Marcel Thomas—authenticated by Gérard Gagnepain, legal expert for the artist’s estate.” Medium full-size prints, approximately 30.5 x 24 cm. Included are two portraits of Marlène Dietrich, two later silver gelatin prints. On the back of one, a stamp reading “Photographie Marcel Thomas – Photograph taken by Marcel Thomas – authenticated by Gérard Gagnepain, legal expert for the artist’s estate.” On the reverse, written in pencil: “2/20 – Marcel Thomas.” Overall dimensions range from approximately 25.5 x 19.5 cm to 30.5 x 23.5 cm. Signs of handling and warping. Provenance: Estate of Marc WAYMEL.
