[MODERN GREECE] BULGARI Stamati Recollections of Stamati Bulgari, Chief of Battalion in the Royal Staff Corps, retired. Paris, Pihan de la Forest, Delaunay, 1835. Two texts bound in one vol. in-8°, blue bradel half-percaline, red morocco title-piece, printed green covers preserved. 68 pp. including title, 16 pp. 4 folding plates, including a plan of the new town of Patras. Edges of percaline soiled, white stain on first cover. Scattered foxing, small ink stains on 3 leaves. Bulgari, often considered Greece's first urban planner, undertook the planning and reconstruction of cities destroyed during the revolution: Argos, Nafplio, Patras, Tripoli. Very rare. NB: Only books with pagination or plates have been collated.
