Silver oyster stand on four feet with shell-shaped attachmen - Lot 244
Silver oyster stand on four feet with shell-shaped attachments, the display stand decorated with pampers and shells, engraved below the base with a coat of arms in a cartouche stamped with a comtal crown, the openwork flask holders decorated with pampers and rocaille, with silver stoppers (discharge 1768-1774), (a screw soldered later on a flask holder, wear, bumps, scratches).
Master silversmith: Joseph-Théodore VAN CAUWENBERGH or VANCOMBERT, Paris, 1774-1775.
Length: 29 cm.
Gross weight: 630 g.
An oil cruet by the same silversmith and with the same dates is in the collections of the Musée des Arts décoratifs (20448 (MAD-1). The coat of arms is that of CIERGES.
