Round ivory box, the lid set with a miniature, probably Fran - Lot 227
Round ivory box, the lid set with a miniature, probably France, 19th century.
The ivory (Elephantidae spp*) with guilloche pattern, the painted miniature under glass depicting a landscape animated with figures, the interior in tortoiseshell (Cheloniidae spp*) and horn (Bovidae), (small crack on the lid, interior damaged, wear).
Diameter: 63 mm.
*Ivory specimen of Elephantidae spp (I/A) pre-Convention, prior to July 1, 1947 and therefore compliant with EC regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art.2-W SCE and SPMC, and prior to July 1, 1975 and therefore compliant with French decrees of May 4, 2017 and January 2022.
To leave the European Union, a CITES re-export permit is required.
*Specimen classified in Appendix I, Appendix A of the Washington Convention, pre-convention.
Specimen predates June 1, 1947 and complies with European Community Regulation 338/97 of 09/12/1996 art 2 W SCE and SPMC, as well as the French Environment Code.
