Gloire des princes clock in patinated bronze and gilt bronze, decorated with pyramid, palm tree, military trophy, lion's nose and crowned closed, inscribed Principum Decus (glory of the princes), resting on a base with a frieze of foliage and sunflowers; (restorations, notably gilding and patina redone at a later date). Attributed to François Vion. Louis XVI period. H: 42.5 cm, W: 20 cm, D: 10 cm. Several comparable clocks were made by the bronze-maker François Vion and bear his signature.
