NAPOLEON III (1808-1873) Emperor. Autograph note, [1865]; 1 - Lot 77
NAPOLEON III (1808-1873) Emperor. Autograph note, [1865]; 1 1/2 pages in-8. On his relations with the Viceroy of Egypt. "The Emperor regretted the procedures of his previous agents with the Viceroy, because his desire is to maintain the best relations with him. On the other hand, the Emperor also regretted that the little confidence which the consuls inspired in the Viceroy had committed him to having unofficial intermediaries with the Emperor. To avoid all these inconveniences the Emperor sent to Egypt a new consul g. M. Outrey", who has all his confidence "and must be the only intermediary with the Viceroy".
