Edgar MAXENCE (1871 - 1954) In front of the lectern, 1912.mixed media on paper, signed, dated and dedicated to the friend Plat, towards the bottom left. 71 x 46 cm. Provenance : - Former collection Joseph Gabriel Plat. Joseph Gabriel Plat (1875 - 1958) was a painter and pastellist, he settled in Saint-Amand-Montrond in the years 1900. Notary by profession, he paints by pure passion. Friend of Edgar Maxence, he studied for six months with Jean-Paul Laurens and Benjamin Constant. He found his way in pastel which he mastered with great agility.
