- King Louis XV, in cuirass on a cloudy background; - Queen Marie Leczinska, on a wooded background. Two oval miniatures on enamel, hanging. Gilded metal frames with lamppost. In their red chagrin case marked with irons: "Louis XV and Marie Lizinska (sic)/painted on enamel/par SOIRON". Case: W. 20 x 9.5 cm - Frames: H. 8.1 x 6.7 cm - Views: H. 6.5 x 5 cm - Jean-François Soiron left Geneva for Paris in June 1800 and became a very successful portrait painter on enamel. He painted portraits of Napoleon I and Josephine de Beauharnais (Musée du Louvre, inv. OA2260), gold medal at the Salon of 1808. He also painted historical figures such as Alexander the Great, Queen Christine of Sweden and Madame de Grignan. At the same time, he was a painter on porcelain in Sèvres. - His second son Philippe (1783-1860) also painted on enamel, including Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper on a chalice in the Emperor's chapel.
