Berthe MORISOT (1841 - 1895) Young girl with a goat, circa 1891. Black pencil drawing, bears the initials stamp on the lower right and the signature stamp on the back. 21 x 21 cm. (Stains, pitting, folds). This work is to be compared with the oil painting Fillette à la chèvre, 1891, oil on canvas 71 x 64 cm described and reproduced in Berthe Morisot 1841 - 1895, catalog raisonné de l'oeuvre peint, Céra -nrs éditions, 1997, page 256 under N°289 where it is indicated : This work was executed during the summer in Mézy after Julie Manet and the Colette Goat. There are seven preparatory drawings for this painting. A photocopy of a certificate from Yves Rouart dated February 16, 2005 will be given to the buyer.
