D'après François-Clément MOREAU (1831-1865). - Lot 211
D'après François-Clément MOREAU (1831-1865). Psyche. Patinated bronze group, signed "f[ranç]ois MO_x0002_REAU". Oval base in red marble (chips). Overall height: 77.5 cm - Bronze height: 71.5 cm - Base length: 49 cm. François-Clément Moreau, born in Paris, entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1850, a pupil of Pradier and Simard, he died young, aged 33. Our statue seems to be a counterpart to Mathurin Moreau's "Fée aux Fleurs" of 1852. It is likely that it is a youthful work.
