CIRCULAR CUP of a model of Ferdinand DUVINAGE (1813- 1874), in marquetry of pre-heaven wood and brass on a background of pre-Convention elephant ivory. Japanese decoration of a peacock and shrubs. Three-legged bronze frame in the shape of a stilt-walker, with slight traces of polychromy. Back lined with brass. Unsigned. Late 19th century. H. 12.5 cm - L. 30 cm - diameter 26.7 cm. Beautifully made, cracks in the ivory, slightly oxidized bronzes, very slight shocks. The decoration is that - reversed - of the cup dis_x0002_persed under number 171 of the Goxe and Belaïsch sale at the Enghien Auction House, on Sunday, 29 October 2017.
