A gilt bronze and black patinated hanging lamp representing two Amours disputing a heart in front of an aedicule forming a mirror, with Egyptian style pilasters and a frieze of butterflies. Enamel dial by LE ROY bordered with denticules, topped with a winged torch. Plate stamped LR, PF and numbered 260/4. Wire suspension. Empire period. H. 48 - L. 30 cm. Iconography: the group representing the two Loves is anonymous, it was formerly attributed to the brothers Nicolas and Joseph Broche (cf. Museum Carnavalet, inv. S3171).
